Hi my name is Jack and my school has done a peace of art. Everyone got a triangle and the whole school coloured in their triangle.  Have you ever made some art like this? We have it up in the office foyer so when people come they can see the schools art.  Hope you like it, my school worked really hard on it!   

snow day

Today we found an accredited image on Explore and selected it to use on our page. We then put a 5x5 grid on it so we could copy the image and make it original. Mrs Minehan selected the first two images so we could understand the process, then we got to choose our own image.
I found the first one was challenging but I stuck with it.
The second one was a bit easier. 
I chose the image of the tree because it was the best one I did.
Have you ever tried to transform an image using a grid? How did you find the process?

spunky speeches

This week I have been writing a speech about Flying Bananas.

The reason is that Room 1 are learning about speeches is so we can practice our oral language. I found it challenging to think of something in each  paragraph. I enjoyed making up the story and fitting in funny things. We are also doing a school speech competition and 2 year  7  and 8s will go to the West Coast competition. It was also hard to make it between 2 and 4 minutes. The sad thing was that we had to make it a bit longer in case we got nervous and sped up so it was not the full 2 minutes.

First we gathered data to put in our graph. We had to find out the activities kids like and how many farm animals there were. Then we put this information on a spreadsheet and clicked the bar graph button to make our graphs. Have you ever used graphs on spreadsheets? Here are my graphs.

persuasive argument

Physical play shouldn't be banned because it is fun. The reason it is fun is because it is more of a challenge to dart around everyone. You don't just get touched. So it is more fun.




It is more like real League or Rugby. You get tougher and you know how to handle big hits. You can learn more from it. It is much more fun and everyone likes to play it more, but if there is little kids you can just play a game like touch or they just can not play. It is still boring.




Wrestling It is good because there is lots of kids the same age so it will be easier for us all to play and no one will be too rough. No one will get hurt that badly. Wrestling is fun because it is something to do when it is a sunny day. There is a really low chance of getting badly heart. So it will be OK!




Another reason is that we can not play proper soccer with slide tackles and pushing it will be way more fun. It will be boring without physical play. You can get stronger. You learn coordination and timing to get them at them right time.




I think that physical play should not be banned so school want be so miserable and you can play it at lunch. I hope you agree with me.
